BRIDGES
A bridge can be used to replace one or more missing teeth. Replacing missing teeth with a bridge can make it easier to chew, improve your smile and help keep your gums, other teeth and jaw healthy. Missing teeth can also lead to other teeth shifting. and a poor or improper bite.

What is a fixed Bridge?
This is one or more replacement teeth attached to natural teeth beside them. A fixed bridge can only be removed by a dentist and can be made of metal and/or tooth-coloured porcelain. Your dentist will advise you which is the best material to use in your mouth. The two main types of bridges are: Conventional and Maryland.

Maryland Bridge

Conventional Bridge

This type of bridge has replacement teeth that are attached to crowns. These crowns are placed over the natural teeth on either side of the space to be filled.

Replacement teeth are attached to the back of the natural teeth on eithere side of the space with a metal strip. If the teeth next to the bridge are in good condition this type of bridge may be an option.
