Your baby may become irritable and sometime restless when teething. Do not assume that if they have a fever, diarrhea or vomiting that it is due to teething. If these symptoms occur check with your pediatrician.
Signs your baby may be teething: cheeks that are red or have a rash, drooling or increased saliva, loss of appetite, crankiness.
What to do if your child is teething:
Give your child a cold hard object to chew on like a teething ring, as the coldness will help ease any pain or discomfort and the hardness will help to speed up the eruption of the tooth.
You may also try with a clean finger massaging the gums, as this will sometimes help to reduce the pain and discomfort.
There are also teething gels/ointments that will numb the gums and reduce the pain, but check you’re your pharmacist/doctor as to which one would be best for your child.
